Kid-Friendly Recipes??!!

Ok, I might be incredibly wrong about this.. Please set me straight (or just opine…)

I have been seeing more and more blogs and cookbooks popping up in the paleo community that are geared toward cooking for children. Hmmmm… the so-called “kid friendly” recipes….. I have never understood this concept. Our children eat and always have, the same meals that we eat. They love steak, fish, chicken, sushi, bacon, eggs, soups and the like. In fact, when the teacher asked my youngest son Henry what his favorite breakfast was, he proudly replied “bacon fat”…

Sure, my kids would happily chow down frosted flakes too… But we do not buy that stuff thus it is never an option. More importantly, they LOVE a great omelet for breakfast (or dinner), and happily scarf down some corned beef, grilled chicken hearts and the like.

Preparing kid-friendly meals suggests that there is something wrong with the foods the adults eat; that somehow our children are ready to consume real food because it does not taste well…. Not in my house!! 😉

Any thoughts?
